CE Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How can I get CE credits at Financial Advisor’s website?
A: You can complete CE tests about articles you have read in FA magazine, watch our webinars or attend our conferences to get CE credits. Please visit our CE center at /ce_center.php.
Q: How do I get CE credits for webcasts I have watched?
A: There will be CE credit reporting instructions on the last slide of the webcast presentation the day of the event.
*NOTE: YOU WILL HAVE 10 DAYS AFTER WATCHING THE LIVE WEBCAST TO REPORT FOR CREDIT VIA OUR WEBSITE.
Q: What licensing agencies will offer me CE credits if I show I have learned from the content you provide?
A: The CFP Board, Investments & Wealth Institute (formerly IMCA) and the College for Financial Planning.
Q: Does Financial Advisor magazine report to these agencies that I have met the requirements for CE credits?
A: FA magazine provides reports during the first and third week of each month on CE to the CFP Board and to I&WI. FA magazine does not submit a report to The College for Financial Planning because CFFP requires advisors to self-report. If you are interested in self-reporting, please contact the appropriate licensing agency.
Q: I've submitted several CE tests and received certificates from Financial Advisor magazine that I've completed them, but CFP Board hasn’t acknowledged my credits. How come?
A: We provide the CFP Board with a report during the first and third week of each month. It can take the Board up to 10 days after we file our report to acknowledge those credits.
Q: Two weeks ago, I took 10 CE tests for 10 magazine issues on your website to meet my CFP CE requirement deadline at the end of the month. But FA magazine doesn’t report my CE credits to the CFP Board until the first week of the next month. Do I get these credits?
A: Yes, the CFP Board will grant you the credits as long as the tests were taken before your deadline to meet CE requirements.
Q: How many credits can I earn at the FA website?
A: The CFP Board will apply all the credits available in the CE center toward your 30-hour requirement.
